Hello
I need help...
I am now overclocking my e7200 cpu
My mainboard is p5q-e

4.23 ghz
1.62v

3.8 ghz
1.45v (stable, passed 8 hours prime test)

I run super pi
I've got 12 seconds

I am trying to set low voltage
it doesn't work below 1.61v

I try to sort this problem with cpu Gtl voltage options
It didn't help much (it might be because I don't know how to manage those options)

3.6Ghz needs 1.4V and 3.8Ghz needs 1.475V with my CPU

But I would not run the CPU >1.4V for longer periods because the CPU can be killed, so only do it if you can afford to go and buy a new one.

The E7x00 chips are crap as they do not have soldered caps so the temperature goes very high no matter what cooling you have.

I have my E7200 @ 3.84ghz 1.375V and with watercooling temps are 49-50C full prime95 load.
Yeah, my temp is ~55C at 3.6Ghz/1.4V with watercooling.

But if you look at the CPU temp it shoots up from 27C to 55C almost instantly when starting Orthos or a game, that to me is an indication that the heat is being trapped by the IHS and not transferred to the waterblock.

Also it doesnt't matter if I run the 120mm fan on my radiator at 700rpm or 1600rpm, the difference in CPU temp is minimal

Ah, well TBH almost every single wolfdale I've owned has behaved that way...and I've owned a few.
