I have finally decided on the final choice for the main components of my computer, I will be using the computer for high end gaming and i will be leaving it on running downloads throught the day, so it will be on for about 16 hours a day. will the parts below be able to handle this?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £191.99
1 x Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £149.99
1 x Plextor M5S 256GB Solid State Drive - (PX-256M5S) £139.99
1 x Akasa Cobra Power 750W Modular Power Supply PSU £77.99
Total : £571.96 (includes shipping : £10.00).

And for the RAM which I already have
Patriot G2 Series 1600MHz 16GB (4x 4GB) Quad Channel Memory Kit

I have not yet decided on a graphics card, but will be getting one at a later date, and may look at SLI in the future.

Can you guys see any way i could save money on this build, while keeping all the features that i want.

Thanks
Dan

Damn did not know that, will have to get a CPU cooler too

any suggestions, i want something that is silent, works well and looks awesome.

Thanks for that information.

you have three options

1 buy the retail version of that processor for a few quid more and not really over lock it . If you intend not to over clock you clock an get a cheaper CPU from the same line as the one you have selected.

2 buy a cheap heatsink fan for around an extra 25 quid like the coolermaster hyper 212 evo and put a bit of an overclock on it.

3 go all out and get a very good heat sink like the corsair h100 for a out 100 quid and go all out on the overclock and potentially get an extra 30% performance increase.

4) buy a £60 air cooler and go all out on the overclock and potentially get an extra 28.5% performance increase :D

Thanks guys

I will be looking to get a big case, and I do not plan to overclock it

I think I will probably spend about £30 on a 3RD party cooler.

Thanks

If you are not going to go for an overclock why would you pay over the odds for an unlocked overclocking cpu?

Your money would be better spent on one of these cpus than and it you net you a saving and they all come with a heat sink so you save on that as well.

1 x Intel Core i5-4670 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £179.99
1 x Intel Core i5-4570 3.20GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £161.99
1 x Intel Core i5-4440 3.10GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £143.99
Total : £496.76 (includes shipping : £9.00).

the only reason I would then go for an after market cooler is to reduce the noise levels which are not even that high anyway.

But this is only my opinion.

If you don't plan on overclocking you are way overspecced.

This is more what you need for that:
