Currently running a EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Classified 4096MB.

all maxed out on a 24" monitor @ 1920x1200 running Far Cry 3/Skyrim etc

thinking about upgrading to a 27" monitor @ 2560x1440 but if i did, I will still want to play everything at Max/Ultra, is my GC man enough to do that and still keep a decent frame rate?

don't think I can afford to upgrade the monitor and GC at the same time if it isn't

It is subjective to what you consider playable. I personaly feel that 60fps is needed and in some of the newer games like Far Cry 3 and Crysis 3, this will not be achievable at that higher res.

Tone down settings a little and you will be fine though.

ok cheers.

Just been reading the discussion on Metro about it being a demanding game.

If I bought another EVGA 680 and SLI'd them, would they keep a decent frame rate (40+) at 2560x1440 with everything at max .. or it would it be better to just replace the 680 with a 690?

I'd get the monitor first and try it with your current card to see whether you find it acceptable or not before splashing out.
