is my gfx on the way out ?

Hi all, my old 280gtx seem to be dieing on me, fine on desktop, but as soon as i try to play any games i get this after about 5 mins or less

is it about to die or does anyone have any other ideas on what i could try.

also pc locks up with sound loop of the game iam playing, and i have to reset and reboot before i can use pc again

What are the temps like on the card?

Artifatcs tend to mean the card has issues

Bit obvious but, is the fan still spinning ?

lookin at temps on afterburner they were about 85 c, which is about normal for the card, also fan is spinning

idle temps as i type are 54 c

Is there any easy way to get the coard slighty cooler, just to rule out a possible heat issues.

Perhaps try a driver update and can you try the card in another system.

just done a driver update to lastest version, and played 1 round of black ops with out any problems, fingers crossed there is still some life left in it
