is my gigabyte RGB header breaking fans

so installed a cheapo thermaltake AIO cooler and plugged the RGB 3 pin cable into the 3 pin header, the pump just flickered, and the 2 fans partialy lit. couldnt control them with RGB fusion, tried the included sata controller, and the pump leds worked but not the fans. so i RMA;d the cooler and ordered a normal air cooler and some FANs.. so the fans are doing exactly the same thing they are only partially lit in some random colour.

ive just seen a jumper in the manual that sets the DLED to 12v instead of 5v ... and its set to 12v so its blown the LEDS :(

mate that must be really annoying, now you got to decide if you are going to buy new fans or not.

yep annoying, ive gone aircooled on it for now, and ill try my luck returning the fans they were only cheapo, and the replacements are now working fine
