Right, I have a GTX670 MSI Power Edition which I've seen on the net that there are some potentially know issues with the voltage and how it done.

When I am playing games the pc just locks and I get a high pitch static kind of noise, and its pretty much 3 - 4 times a night when gaming.

I have resat all my components, got a new PSU still this happens. Do you think it's the gpu causing this lock up?

My cpu temps never go above 55 degrees.

Thanks

Are you using all the same components as in your signature?

What you described sounds like what happened to me with my 5 series cards, but I can't say the cause was/is the same. I was running my GPU's using a PCI-e 6 pin to molex adapter and had the same scenario you described. I would power up, load the gpus with a game then after maybe 10 mins - 1 hour it would lock up causing a horrid noise to emit through my earphones and I was forced to restart. Initially I thought I was overheating but temps never went over 65 Celsius. I eventually found out that the adapter cable I was using just wasn't up to the task, I got a new PSU with all required cables and never had the issue again. That PSU you have is the one I had afterwards and it too died after being introduced to my 290.

I know I haven't offered you any help so to speak but hope you find the root of the issue as it was frustrating for me as I am sure it is for you.

If you have another system test the card in that, if you have another PSU test that in your system etc.

Yes i am using the components in my sig. I haven't long changed the psu from a pc power and cooling silencer 750w as I thought it was on it's way out after fiver years of use!

Unfortunately I don't have any spares as I sold my components on fleebay to fund this one. I am at a lose end other than just rmaing my gpu and psu and seeing what happens.... Just dont know what to try other than rma!
