Ok so heres my problem:
Having updated the graphics drivers and installing simcity, I have found that the game would hang occasionally and then cause a whole system freeze killing the OS behind the game. I tried reinstalling the game twice and still it happened. I then tried changing the graphics drivers for my 670 and using the latest ones from nvidia and this caused my windows 8 install to stop booting in, and caused the dreaded black screen problem after the loading in. So then this evening I have tried rolling back the win8 - which hasn't worked, I have tried re-installing windows 8 using the IGP on my motherboard which has worked and I was able to check the SSD (which has 100% health), but then switching the IGP back off I would be back to the dreaded black screen issue on loading. I am now resigned that I need to switch back to the IGP for the moment and try to diagnose if the GFX card is dead or not - and decide whether I need to RMA it back to OcUK.

MB: MSI Z77A-G45
RAM: 16GB (4 x 4GB) Geil Black Dragon (PC3-10666C9)
SSD: Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB
PSU: Corsair 550W
