Is my GPU (GTX 970) dead?

So, back in September I bought a new GTX 970 from OCUK. Installed it into my PC, and had zero issues. In fact, it was lovely!

Then, in the past week, a couple of times, whilst using the machine, the displays blacked out and nothing was showing on them. The PC itself didn't stop working as both times I was connected to teamspeak and was able to continue talking to people without issue. The most recent took place on Wednesday evening. When it happened, a restart fixed it.

Then, on Thursday morning, I turn my PC on, and nothing. It appears to not even post. I take a look on Friday and remove the GPU, clear CMOS and plug into the integrated graphics, PC posts and runs without any issue (other than the limitations of the chip itself).

Had some time this morning to do a little bit of troubleshooting. When plugged in and the GPU powered, the PC wouldn't post, when my monitors are connected to either the iGPU or the 970 ports. However, once I removed the power cables from the 970 and plugged my monitor cables into the iGPU ports, it will runs fine.

Any advice, or is this an RMA job?

Do you have another PSU you can try? If the PSU isn't sending power to the GPU then the GPU is not going to work.

Alas, I no longer have a spare PSU.

2500k
AsRock Z68M-ITX/HT motherboard
