Is my gpu on its way out? Plus possible replacement

So I've had this GTX 260 since the computer was assembled in 2008, and just a couple of hours ago I fired up some Hearthstone and the computer froze, and went black, appeared and a nvidia logo came back.

Now, after hard rebooting the splash screen was very distorted and I wasn't even able to get back to the desktop. However after leaving it for a bit, everything seem to go back to normal. I don't think its an overheatng issue as I looked inside and the fan seemed to be operating fine. However, just to be pre-emptive I'll want to have a replacement ready so there is no downtime.

What would be a possible replacement for something below £50? I don't play any intensive games atm, only Hearthstone and dabbled in some Diablo 3 and maybe WoW.

Look at something like a 470 if you want to stay green.

That should be fine then.
You could try updating and re installing drivers for your card
Is the card and case clear of dust?

Just to update this this thread. My 260 has completely died now, and I won an auction for a GTX 280 for £19.99 (plus £7 postage costs)
