Is my graphics card dead?

While in the middle of a game of Fifa07, my PC (specs in the signature) froze and green vertical lines appeared across the screen.

I had to press the reset button on the case, to force it to reboot, and I was greeted with nothing more than a flsahing cursor.

I suspected it might be the graphics card. I switched over from using a DVI video cable to an analogue one, and rebooted again. This time, the bios boot screen appeared - but it was immediately covered in 'noise'. The computer carried on booting, and got as far as the Windows booting screen, (with lots of noise on the screen) before it appeared to grind to a halt.

I've opened up the case, and made sure that everthing is plugged in properly. What do you think? I want to make sure it's the graphics card before I go and buy a replacement AGP card.

Have you tried reseting Bios?, or if you can try it in another machine. Or better still if your Motherboard has onboard graphics take out the card and try your comp with that to make sure every thing else is ok.
You could also try it in safe mode
