Is my graphics card dieing?

For some reason since yesterday every time I run any game, within a few seconds I start getting blue and white lines all over the screen, then a few seconds later the screen goes into standby mode.

If I restart the PC I get the same blue and white lines while doing the POST etc which leads me to believe that this is a hardware problem.

No amount of restarting the PC will fix the problem, but if I turn the computer off and on again all returns to normal until I run another game.

Im guessing the graphics card is on the way out? It’s a Radeon 2900 so I guess an upgrade wouldn’t be the worst thing, im just somewhat broke as I just bought a new car.
 
definately hardware if its corrupting pre-POST.

could also be a psu problem, gaming will draw an extra 100W or so and if parts are getting starved of power it can cause issues.

Only way to kno for sure is to swap the parts into another machine for test.
 
Just tried with my old X800 and it worked fine, put in the 2900 again and lines everywhere, back to the X800 and all fine, back to the 2900 and lines.

I guess I will be ordering a new card :p
