Hello,

I purchased a 5850 a little while back and im getting roughly 40 frames in crysis wars (online) with everything on lowest settings @ 1920x1200.

I am also getting some stutter or lag now and then when it drops to nearly 20.

I previously owned a 8800GTX and didnt have any lag from that.

Is that the right amount of performance?

Not sure about Crysis Wars but that doesn't sound right.

On Crysis with everything on Very High settings @ 1920x1080 I get 40+ FPS (drops to 20-30 for a moment during heavy moments) on my 5850 (850 core/1000 memory)

hi
what cpu do you have . is your gpu overclocked , they are still very fast cards
cheers

this^^^ what is your cpu,and how much ram have you? and is the cpu overclocked.
A good way is to compare the card to other HD5850's, so go here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18249292
Download the program, and run it with the settings mentioned in the link.
Then compare your score with other HD5850's in the list, :)

Hey guys,
Thanks for replying,

I have a Q6600 CPU @ 3Ghz
(was at stock but just put upto 3ghz thats helped a lot about 40 to 50fps)
AND 2GB of Ballistix ddr2 ram @800mhz

I'm running the game at the moment 85% physical memory and about 40% cpu usage (on task manager)

All low settings 1920x1200 @50fps average but sometimes I get 'shudders' when it jults down a bit to about 20fps.
The shudders only last about 2 seconds but happen frequently, enough to get annoyed.

I don't have any other games to test out really. But bfme 2 runs fine although its 6 years old so it wouldn't matter. Actually I have crysis 2 im going to install and try that I'll get back to you on performance.

@stuartw_b I'm downloading the benchmark now thanks.

Thanks

The 5850 has some nice overclocking headroom I'd look at overcocking it and increasing the q6600 to at least 3.2 ghz

Got Results

Hey

I got the results from the heaven benchmark

So seems like the card is fine. :)

I'm guessing something else is causing it

Windows thinks its the RAM.
