Is my i5 655K compatible with 1055 socket mobo?

My Gigabyte P55-US3L has died so I guess I need to find a replacement.

As far as I can see, 1056 mobo's are no longer available.

Is my i5 655k compatible with a new 1055 motherboard?

If not, what would you suggest to get my PC back up and running?

should be 1156 and no a S1156 CPU isn't compatible. You need one based on a P55 chipset.

Either pick up a second hand P55/H55 socket 1156 mobo or sell the cpu and switch to a socket 1155 Sandybridge/Ivybridge/Haswell and Z77/Z87 mobo.
