Is my ISP blocking me?

Hello,

I having problems accessing certain websites directly from my browser but if I use a proxy program or proxy off the internet the websites work so I know they're not down.

Is my ISP blocking something somewhere? Or any other ideas as to why this might be happening. It's the same on everyones computers/macs in the house.

It maybe dns issues. How long has this been happening?

Could be DNS, could be connectivity issues in the backbone. It would help if you'd mentioned which ISP and which sites...

The ISP is AOL. There's loads of sites that don't seem to work namely the Paypal login and PcWorld are two that come to mind. Its been like this now for probably 2-3 weeks.

I actually can't ping paypal.co.uk or pcworld.co.uk

The AOL UK dns servers are set in the router so I'm not sure if its an AOL DNS issue or not?

Never mind guys. Fixed it.

With a bit of research realised the MTU had changed to 1458. One of my housemates must have been messing trying to be clever!

Is the mtu setting still 1450 or 1400 on aol?
