Been having a lot of system crashes/freezes the last few days, culminating in a reformat and fresh windows install at the weekend. Also updated the firmware on my ssd, (120gb vertex 2e bigfoot). Still nothing but problems. Downloaded and ran memtest 86 via cd, results below after a few minutes.

System at stock speed, ram is 8gb (2x4gb) of corsair vengeance low profile. Had been running the oc in sig, ram at 1600mhz, 1.57500v 9-9-9-24. Whats the likelyhood that this is ram related, whilst this is bad, im hoping it isnt a mobo issue. Dont have any other suitable ram here to troubleshoot with.

Tried each stick individually in each ram slot. All passed without issue, i let memtest run for a single pass each time, (11 mins per pass). After that, reinstalled the full kitin its reccomended slots for dual channel. Left it running memtest over night, 6 hours and no errors. Codes i was getting are.

0xC5 (0xFFFFF81002C0F6B0, 0x2, 0x0, 0xFFFFF80002BB4A4E)

0xF4 (0x3, 0xFFFFFA8008B26B30, 0xFFFFFA8008B26E10, 0xFFFFF80002DC9470)

have you run chkdisk on your ssd? and run antivirus/anti spyware just to make sure

This will have absolutely no relevance over the memtest results.

Could be the motherboard has a dying capacitor and loading it with both sticks of RAM pushes it over the edge.

Was running a virus scan just now, got to 81% before blue screening, same 0xF4 code as above. I did set chkdisk to run yesterday upon next boot, got so far then seemed to freeze. Hit reset though.

Edit: Blue screened again with same code, looked at my ssd, (vertex 2e 120gb) red light on drive. Upon reboot, the disk wasnt detected, went straight to cd. Rebooted and ssd detected again.

Ssd only detected on 1/3 boot attempts now. When windows loads, it freezes with the red led flashing on the drive, followed by bsod.

Just two old 36gb raptors taken from an old rig. Tbh, i might drop the whole rig off at my nephews. Hes a comp science student who does repairs testing etc in his spare time.

Im hoping to god it isnt the motherboard. Memory or ssd i can live with, new board no way. Asus rma is very poor. Tbh, i really regret downgrading to this pile of slow garbage. My old x58 i7 920 @4.2ghz was a far better running setup.

stick a raptor in and do a clean install and test it,cant be good news if the red light is flashing on your ssd

Turned out to be my ssd. New hdd installed and system running grand, cpu oc'd and ram running at rated speed and timings.
