So i built my system last month and all has been fine and super fast ( esp with the M2 drive ) , however when i had my task manager open i noticed the following under Memory : SPEED 2133MHz
So is my memory speed not setup correctly in the bios , OR can the speed of the memory go up and down like the speed of a cpu.
My system specs are :
MB : Asus rog strix X470-f gaming
CPU : Ryzen 7 2700x
Drive : Samsung 500gb 970 evo M2
GPU : Gigabyte 1080ti gaming OC

You didnt list what ram you actually brought, we wont know if its running at the correct speed without knowing what you brought, if you brought 2133mhz ram then its running as it should.

@Doug2507 task manager shows what is set in the bios:

what ram and speed did you buy ?
have you enabled xmp ?

No, its running at the default speed. Would need to dial in your settings in the bios.

What exact ram is it?

Sounds like tsk Mgr shows JEDEC. Open up cpu-z or bios.

Assuming you have not bought slower RAM enable DOCP in BIOS so it sets the memory speed automatically. If this causes problems just put the setting back the way it was.
Sorry all i was to busy posting my specs i totally forgot to press the paste button and paste a link to the ram in question lol
