I am running 2 sticks of 512mb of Geil Value memory in my machine and want to upgrade to 2gb.
I've looked at the motherboard specs and I can apparently run 4 x 512mb sticks and still have them running at 400mhz and dual channel.....but only if my memory is "Single Sided" ?!?!?!? (otherwise it runs at 333mhz!)

I've had a look at the Geil website and it doesnt seem to say if my kit is single or double sided???

Anyone got any idea's???

Cheers, StevieP

Look at the sticks, if there are memorychips on both sides (very likely) it is double sided.

The 33Mhz is only the default speed, most likely you can change it to 1:1

What CPU have you got?

I cant really tell if the memory has chips on both sides, they have blue aluminium covers on them! I'll have a look tonight though.

My CPU is an Athlon 64 3200 (see my sig.)

I dont think you can change it from 333mhz according to the MSI specs on my mobo, 4 x 512mb sticks can only run at 333 if they are double sided, its the single sided sticks that can run at the full 400!!!
