Is my mobo dead?

PC turned itself off today - I thought it was a power cut, but all other power was working. I changed the power cord for one that I know works and tried to power on but it won't power on.

Opened the case, when I press the power switch the CPU fan moves about 1mm (probably less) and then remains motionless. I had a spare power supply, so I swapped that out. Still dead. I then thought maybe the switch? So I pulled out the wires to the front of the case and tried to power on with a screwdriver (like a breadboard setup). Still dead.

Specs
CPU AMD A10-5800K Black Edition 3.80GHz
Mobo: Gigabyte F2A75M-HD2 AMD A75 Chipset (Socket FM2) DDR3
Memory: TeamGroup Xtreem LV 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-21300C11 2666MHz
Power Supply XFX Pro 450W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze'
Also tried Corsair 430W

Any ideas which component could be dead? Mobo? Memory? I purchased the whole thing from overclockers six months ago.

no lights on the mb?

is it overclocked? if not try clearing the cmos (it will wipe any oc/bios settings though)

No lights on mb, never been overclocked (sorry) :D

My next steps are: take out CPU and cooler, and remove thermal grease, clean down with proper thermal remover, and reapply. I have some memory chips in another machine, will try those too.

have you removed cmos/motherboard battery and left it out a good 10 minutes? try that first,i doubt its cpu or paste

So, I've done the CPU/paste, done the CMOS thing (only 5mins out of the board). Still dead. One more thing to try - I will put some different memory chips in. Anything else?

anyway you can test with a different psu?

Already done that as I said at the start of the thread.

I've also swapped out the memory and it works fine in another machine, so it's looking like a dead mobo. As it's only six months old, but I want to get it back up and running ASAP, what are my options? Should be under warranty, right?

remove the ram and try power up. it should error beep and hopefully reset the board. worth a go.

no error beeps with no ram would suggest the board

yh 3 year warranty

try turning pc on at front panel button, then soon as you press it or fan twitches turn off at psu switch,do it as fast as you can two or three times then let pc powerup normally

the aim is to recover the main bios with the backup bios if its borked
