Well as the topic says, I returned back from work yesterday to find my keyboard wire looked like it had been chewed through  , anyway I plugged in my old ps2 keyboard and it worked fine but later on I got a little curious and put insulating tape around the bitten wire and plugged my usb keyboard back in (Logitech Ultra-x) and suddenly my pc switched off. I switched it back on and it wouldn't even post the power light was on and the hdd activity light was a solid colour, so I tried reseeding my memory and graphics card but still the same thing. It just turns on and and nothing comes up on my monitor. I was advised by a friend of mine that basically the keyboard had shorted the motherboard and I should RMA it, so I did via the company I bought it from and they basically said it takes 4-6 weeks going through MSI ( MSI K9N Neo-F AM2). So I ordered a new one last night from Overclockers, Is it my motherboard that is actually borked or could any of my other components have gone with it?

Thanks for reading

its never adviseable to use anthing thats got any damdage to it wether it be a monitor or a keyboard cable.

it may well have shorted out the mobo

on one system i had i was stupid and stuck a screw driver into the usb port, that just made the psu shut off automaticly

luckaly the mobo and everything was all a ok

but rember kids sticking anything where its not supposed to go can get you into trouble!!!

the only real advice i can give would be to throw away the keyboard.

well.. after it happened I immediately through it in the bin, I just hope none of my other components are damaged and a new motherboard will fix the issue.
