Hi chaps.
Really need some advice...
I've got two HDDs, one for Windows and work, and the other purely for games installed, Steam and all related steam games. The idea being of course, if gaming killed my hard drive then no worries I wouldn't lose everything.

Well...
I have a Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6 motherboard and I need to know whether you think it's dying.
My games drive has died twice now... no problem so far with my primary drive. But I've got a 1 year old Antec PSU so it's not that.. I'm on my third replacement D:\ now, I tried to restore the drive but it's not just scrambled it's actually dead according to the Seagate and Western Digital drive doctor type tools that I've used...

Is this my motherboard dying? Sometimes my SATA DVD drive disappears and isn't recognised as well, so I'm thinking the SATA controller is faulty?

What do you guys think? It's an old Gigabyte motherboard, still DDR2 so it might just be at the end of its life?

I can't blame any other component because the drive is less than a year old and it was a Samsung SpinPoint so should last longer than that..
also the drive before that was a WD Green that got killed too.. I tried to put them both in an external HDD caddy and neither are recognised in the drive doctor tools.

Can you help?
Thanks!
