Is my motherboard faulty?

My PC is refusing to power on. When it does, it shuts down after a few seconds. Once it said "PSU power surge detected". I powered it off and swapped it with a new Seasonic PSU. It's doing the same thing as before. I even swapped out the power cable. There are times when it does power on and stays powered on. I can play demanding games like Alan Wake 2 without any issue whatsoever.

Is my ASUS MAXIMUS VIII GENE Micro ATX motherboard at fault here?

I cleared the CMOS. Also, when it boots into Windows, it does not power off at all. It's only when I press the power button and while the ASUS logo is showing. But when it gets into Windows boot screen, it works fine.

My PC specs
CPU: Intel 6700K
Ram: Kingston 16gb DDR4
Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VIII GENE Micro ATX
GPU: Zotac 3060 12GB

I have done that. I only have a Logitech mouse and keyboard plugged in.

Update: so I have tried the following:

I pulled out the ram, GPU, case fan, and the CPU, and I powered it on and still did not work, even though the light on the motherboard is lighting up.

I’m guessing the motherboard is faulty.
