I bought myself a handheld blender today. A Philips HR1363.
Testing on a big pan of homemade soup I can decree soup does blend, but the blender is rather tricky to use.
When powered up it generates huge amounts of suction and first drags itself down through the liquid then sticks to the bottom. From there I can slide it around if I hold the pan still or let off the power and lift the device up.
The manual says "Blend ingredients by moving the appliance slowly up and down and in circles"
I assumed I'd just be able to move the thing around freely rather than have the thing limpet itself to the bottom. Further testing in the sink revealed I could lift a medium size pan of water using just suction!
I've never had one before and don't know it this is normal?
