Hi guys,

As above. I've had my GT Avalanche from new in 06/07 and although I rode her a lot for the first couple of years there have been long periods (years at a time!) when she's not been used at all... now she's down to about 3rd in line and with me mainly using road/hybrid bikes I need her out of the way :(

Hays Sole Discs, Deore all round apart from the crank which is XT. Rockshox - is she still marketable?

With a good clean and a quick tune/service the bike would be like new! I'm just not sure what to punt it out at? I think it was around £600 new.

Thanks.

You can sell any bike if you're prepared to go low enough. I sold a 20 year old piece of crap for a tenner or so a few years back.

How much do you want for it, and how badly do you want to be shot of it? Can you deliver it, like do you have a rack for your car and are you prepared to drive a bit to drop it off?

You might get £50-100 for it, maybe?

Thanks mate, £100 sounds good

It doesn't really owe me anything and I've had my value out of it... I'll stick it on the local advertising site then, possibly starting at £100.

Where about have you advertised it? I've got an old Avalanche (1998) I'm looking to get up an running again so could do with the parts. I'm also in Hampshire

I'd say you could probably ask for £150-200 quite easily and be open to offers. Rockshox forks sell well no matter how old they are, discs are a plus. Market should be pretty active right now with people getting interested because of the Olympics.

I think this bike is from about 2006/7 mate? It's currently on the IOW at my Mum's house, I work all over Hampshire. Could easily get it over at a seconds notice though ;)

To be honest though, I'll probably stick it on the local market site when I'm next back there - quick sale.
