Just wondering if my pc will be compatible with windows 11?

I don't really have many reasons to upgrade but I will be getting windows 11 in a few months when is available (if it's like before launch will be the best time to get it for me)

It would best I start looking now rather than later, GPU I don't really want to change at the moment due to the stupid prices.

pc spec
CPU: ryzen 1700x
GPU: RX 580
RAM 16gb DDR4 3200
MOBO: ROG CROSSHAIR VI HERO (WI-FI AC)
SSD: samsung 250GB SSD

Any other suggestions

It’s there to enable secure boot and a few other things such as disk encryption. In your case you’ll have one supported by your cpu.

turned of in most cases by all reports

but think 11 will be a wait 2-3 months and see how people get on windows 10 could in theory be the new windows 2000 for gamers if 11 has problems

It’s still early but I’ve seen good reviews of running 11 as a VM and passing through a GPU without and error 43 or workarounds needed.

Hmm, so I need a to install a TMP 2.0 module onto my motherboard before 2025. Be those things are going to suddenly shoot up in price.

Oh that was easy. Just turned fTPM on in my bios, and now I'm compatible.

Yup that’s it.

think I read it’s 8th gen Intel and up and ryzen since 1st have them onboard.

Another post suggests that MS made a mistake saying 2.0 and 1.2 is enough.

Thanks guys, if no one told me it was on the CPU and I need to change the setting in the bios I would never know.
