My PS3 (semi-fat, non ps2, WD 320gb) keeps freezing and eventually will turn itself off and show a blinking red light or freeze and has to be manually turned off/reset. It does this when playing games or just browsing the menus or using the store.
The sound will begin to stutter and the picture shortly after until it just halts.
However it will play Bluray movies fine in their entirety.
It doesn't feel hot at all when it freezes and the fan doesn't go into overdrive mode either. I have format the hard disk and its the same.
I don't get the ylod just red, but is it the same thing?
I have searched elsewhere but just wondering if its totally borked or worth any further diy repairs?
