Hello,

My main PC has just turned its self off! I heard a small pop and now nothing. The PSU is a Corsair 620w modular (not sure of the letters). After looking at the plug it appears the fuse has blown, i tried a different plug and as soon as i turned on the power on the PSU (0 to 1) i head the same pop...another fuse bites the dust! i'm reluctant to use another plug (i only have the one that's on this PC). does this sound like a dead PSU or could it be something else?

Cheers

Id say it's 99% chance its your PSU, if your lucky it wont of taken any other componants with it.

Assuming you had the pc running fine before, did you use the same amp fuse as the replacement? If you did and you heard a second pop, then I would suspect the psu/pc.

It could also be your electrical supply, but I suspect you would be using a surge protector.

I'm sure there are more qualified members to give better info here....

just swapped the PSU and its working fine now (so far) must have been the PSU RMA time, I assume corsair are a good company when it comes to these things?

My Corsair HX620 went the other week, got the replacement today.
The computer turned off like a power cut had happened and then the PSU went pop and a big spark came out of the back.
If it's under a year old try RMA'ing it to the company you bought it from or you'll have to send it to Corsair in Holland at your own expense.

Just sent it back to Holland...£30! might make sure my next PSU can be sent back to the UK!

Did you get a new one back or was it your old one fixed? not sure i'd want a 'fixed' PSU...

Cheers
