ok my pc shut down 2 times today

and when I was playing bf2 for about 4 hours my screen just went all garbled

when I rebooted it said my graphic card wasnt hooked up to the power supply. wich it was.

nothing is overclocked.

My Graphics Card is a ATI 850XT PE and I have a Dual Core 3800

I checked the program sensor view and my voltage on the +5v is dipping from high 4.8 right down to as low as 1.9 and back again.

You can't go by the sensor. You need to check the voltages with a multimeter.

could be a problem as I dont have one.

mmm well the psu is quiet old its a Enermax 431w had it about 4-5 years now.

ah what the hell I just orderd a Hiper HPU-4K580

That's no excuse, they're only a tenner. Essential overclocking tool for sure.

True you cant always trust the software monitors 100% but if you use a couple of them together you can get a pretty good idea of what is going on.

Dont get the hiper :)

The monitors poll the same sensor, if the sensor's nackered it going to give the wrong reading. Get a multimeter.

Ahh i did not know that (thats why i love this forum :) ).

Can only talk from my own experience but i found a hiper 580w to be no better then a cheap 480w PSU (in terms of actual power output and stability). I wouldnt try one again.
