I have made a few posts in the P5N-E thread, but I thought I would seek some advice in the general hardware as I think it might be a nackered PSU rather than mobo...
So it started when I accidently set the PC to hibernate, and it crashes in a pretty bad way. The screen goes black and then a few mins later a constant beep comes from the system speaker and i need to turn it off at the PSU before it will turn off. When I turn it back the Vista comes out of "hibernating, even though it hasnt been.
Also The onboard LED is always on... I have to acutally disconnect the power supply before it will go off. Even turning the switch on the power supply is off, the light stays on. It has to be completely disconnected... Surely if the PSU is off at the switch there should be no power to the mobo.
There is also a faint and um, dull?, hum that comes and goes. I cant tell where it's comming from or if its vibration or what.
Finally I started up Company of Heroes and started to hear a higher pitched crackling like buzzing sound when I actually started playing the game, when the 3d card became under load I guess Doesnt sound very healthy.
So can anyone give me any ideas of what the problem might be. The system is stable, and other than the noises it, and the problem with hibernation it seems to run fine. I dont want to damage the components...
The PSU is an Antec Truepower 650 watt. Not running SLI
