My current PC is an E6600 with 4GB RAM and a 9800GT running off a 580W Tagan PSU.

Thinking of upgrading to a 260 GTX.

Do the panel think the 580W PSU will be good enough for this upgrade?

Yes, plenty.

I have the same spec, except I have the E6600 @ 3.4 - 3.6 ish and also a GTX280, 2 Case Fans, DVD RW drive, Fan Controller, 5 HDD's.. never had any problems.

its unlikely your setup with a 260gtx would ever peak over 350W, and likely wouldn't use more than 250-280W under most conditions, a heavy top end quad core overclocked with an overclock 4870x2 will rarely use more than 450W, with 8gb mem, plenty of fans and hdd's.
