Is my PSU not able to handle my PC anymore?

Hi,

I have a Corsair CX500W PSU and used to have a i5 3570k and a 7850 until I upgraded to a 280x in April. It has been fine ever since but within the last month or so I have noticed general slowdowns (such as FPS drops and boot time) as well as flickering within games. My CPU is currently overclocked to 4.2Ghz, I may try underclocking in in order to see if it helps. Does this sound like a PSU problem? If so, I've seen this PSU on the Black Friday sale, would you recommend it?

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

I've had it for roughly 2 and a half years now. What would explain the flickering problem in games then and FPS drops? Also, in terms of a fresh OS install (I've been planning on doing one for a while) I have it on an SSD with all my games/files split across 2 other hard drives, if I simply format the SSD and reinstall Windows will my games/files on the HDD's be fine?

I've reverted to stock clocks, I'll see how it goes. I'll also try a different monitor and 9 out of 10 times I can't get in to the BIOS as the resolution does not fit the screen and I can only see about a quarter of what I'm meant to see. Strange. Temps are fine as far as I'm aware.
