Is my PSU OK for Core 2 DUO?

I'm considering making the jump from AMD X2 to Intel Core 2 DUO.

I have an Enermax 500W PSU (ATX 12V v2.2). Will this work with C2D motherboards and is 500W enough?

Yes, assuming you're not massively upgrading the rest of your system at the same time.

I don't have a C2D. But I'd say the following:

It really depends on what else you have in your system. But if all you're doing is moving to a C2D and keeping all other components the same then it should be fine. C2D has slightly lower power requirements unless you're overclocking further than the A64 of course.

Won't be using 2 gfx cards or anything.

Looking at getting an E6600 bundle (inc. CPU + 2gb RAM + 975 mobo) from OC which will eventually include a single R600/8800 (just 7800GT for now).

I'm assuming if I ever switch to Crossfire/SLI I will need to get a better PSU.
