I have a 620W Corsair and I've noticed on a few occasions recently that when I plug it in it makes a bit of a pop. The first time I thought oh noes that's not gonna work but it was fine. Its happened about 3 times in the last month and apart from worrying me when it happens everything seems to work fine.

Should I be concerned?

Thanks, glad its not just me. Maybe I best just leave it plaugged in, I was thinking to much about my carbon footprint I guess. :p

never a good idea to plug the lead in whilst mains is switched on it will surge your PSU, well.. not so bad now with newer psu's having built in protection for this kind of thing but still highly recommended that you dont do this, ever, to keep your psu at max 'health'

Yeah thanks, think you're right. Its kinda annoying when you have a 6 way socket and want to leave some things powered up (such as a router) but want to unplug others.

Think I'll stop plugging it in with the socket live though.
