I was running S"n"M when the test stopped and came up with an error message. It basically said the 5v rail had dropped below 4.9v and it was aborting the test.

The error occurred, not when the test was putting the most stress on my system(i.e.running both cores at 100%), but when the memory test had just started.

Is this an indication that my PSU is on its way out? It's a Jeantech 500w.

Cheers, dagwoood.

Thought a little more info might be helpful :o

I've just changed over to dual core and PCI-E and my system is as per sig plus 2 optical drives(DVD writer and DVD combo), 4 fans(1 side LED, 2 x 80mm Akasa ambers and a 120mm amber)and a floppy drive.

I wandered whether my new card, in conjunction with upgrading to dual core, is proving too much for my PSU, especially as the card is now drawing power from my motherboard as opposed to being connected to the power supply directly. My old CPU was an Opteron 144 and the card was a AGP x800 Pro.
