Ok so i switched my computer on on saturday everything fine. Then i went to load up my usual fair of BF2 disk left in the drive from my last session a few days before.

Message pops up telling me to put the disk in the drive?? so i open up my computer to find no cd drive there, so a system reboot or two later and nothing has changed, no power is getting to the drive, i poped open the side of the case to check the connections everything is ok.

Having a pressing need to play some BF2 i decided ill plugg in my old dvd drive and sort out it out later. si i do, i restart the computer leaving my case open to reconect everything later, when i switch everything back on again all i get is an overwelming smell of burnt plastic and theres a wisp of smoke comming from the molex connector of the drive, quickly truning everything off i pull the old drive apart to find all the chips burnt up.

Now has my new drive sufered the same fate? If so is my PSU also buggered?

the odd thing is that the supply still works and i have actually had my computer running since the drive died.

have now disconected it from the wall to plug in my laptop

i have to say for a company that prides its self on customer service scam really arnt that great at it

I have just bought an enermax PSU from them, i have never bought from there before, hoping it will be ok. I've got £180 worth of Hiper to get RMA'd too, my bank account is a mess!

Me and a few friends havnt had the best experience of scam.

I think the best example is i ordered my new kit in january, they messed up the payment stuff so it was delayed by 3 days. I paid for morning delivery and it arrived at 4. unfourtunalty i had a major motorbike accident the day my stuff arrived and spent 3 weeks in hospital being put back together again.

So my delivery sat unopened for that length of time, once i was released from hospital i decided i would use my spare time and build my computer.

Opened up the 8800GTX and one of the caps was missing, Scam then refused to replace it as i hadnt contacted them sooner! Maybe im a little over sensitive but i think that a little unreasonable, and would have been no trouble for them to replace it as they would any other damaged goods.

But i digress, i guess they wouldnt win the awards if they really were that bad.

how many supplies is that then trickard??

I've had both the Hiper 730W models in my latest rig, my old Athlon XP rig had 485W Enermax. Now ive ordered a new 650W Enermax Infiniti. In this rig it'll be my third power supply, after two faulty in a row. Pretty unlucky, and i wasn't convinced and first, but it is definitely power supply, as i ran Prime95 for two hours and it remained stable, with a different PSU. Shame really, i liked hiper, but i won;'t be recommending them anymore. Need to get myself a Tuniq tower 120, 2 more 400GB seagate (for RAID 5) and another 74GB Raptor for Raid 0 OS. It's killing my bank account.
