Is my pump dead?

I have one of these which was working fine but the vibrations were making a noise so I bought a shoggy sandwich. When I came to install it I started undoing one of the screws on the bottom of the pump and some of the coolant was obviously still in the pump/res and it leaked out. When I put it back together the pump wouldn't start properly, it does this (not my video):

I've put it in the airing cupboard overnight to see if that fixes it but I'm not too hopeful. What are my chances of resurrecting it?

EDIT: Now I think about it, it's also possible I tightened the screws too much when screwing them back in. I was paranoid about having any more leaks, maybe it was too tight and couldn't move?

over-tightening is a common mistake to be honest, it is something we have all done to try to reassure ourselves about leaks but it probably makes the situation worse

it will be watertight as soon as the o-ring starts to flatten, there is no need to crush the o-ring as all that will do is over-stress the acrylic and cause micro-cracks, cause the o-ring to become mishapen which is bad for water-tightness and in this case also restrict movement of the pump which has probably killed it.

i would recommend a new pump and not to tighten the screws to this extent, it may be that you have caused cracking in the acryclic pump-head too which means that you will have to buy a new pump and new head :(

it looks like the impeller is no got good contact to me,strip it down clean and reseat.
