Hi all,

It is now time to throw in the towel and retire my Q6600, the chip has done me well over the years. Shes never gone a single Mhz up from stock, mainly due to my pants 680i motherboard.

I see that there are numerous types Q6600’s that are available, the G0 stepping being the more desirable due to its over-clocking ability.

Am I right in thinking that the SLACR chips are the g0s? Mine says SLACR MALAY on it

Are all SLACR’s g0’s or does it need to be broken down more than that?

Any insight will be helpful.

SLACR is the code used only by G0 chips - so if it says that on the chip then you can be certain you have a G0.

"SL9UM" is the code for the inferior B3 stepping chips.

Many thanks for the insight, mine says SLACR MALAY, so i assume that means its a g0 manufactured in malaysia ?
