Hey all.

I've got this frequent problem with my eclipse. Bascially it's typing on it's own. If i leave it for about 10 seconds, the "." button just springs alive and puts full stops everywhere. I've also found out that "h, g, and ," trigger this too.

I've been told to clean it out, but it doesn't happen all the time. A cold boot is where it's worse. But sometimes it's fine. Could this really be caused by dirt under the keys? I don't want to take it apparent in fear that it wont go back together again :p

Any ideas?

Pop up the keys, and have a look underneath.

Do the keys actually "pop" up?
They pop out with a bit of leaverage. Im not going to say DO IT but using the end of a spoon, or anything thin enough to get between the keys pops them out quite easily. No damage done, and they're put back in place by pushing them in quite simply.

unscrew it all and take it apart, should find several layers of an aesthete type of material, just check its all clean, no water in it, no dirt, and its all okay - sounds like the tracks are actually shorting  very odd

I'll take a look at it after college today :)

If theres nothing there, i guess it's new keyboard time..

Anyone know the warranty on the saitek eclipse?

Ok guys, i just took it apart and made sure it was clean of dust and grime.

But i still have the s.ame problem!. Infact if anything... it's got worse.

I've tried a PS2 keyboard on here and it works fine. So i'm gonna go try the eclipse on a different computer.

Update..

Tried it on another PC and it had the same problem. Guess i'm on the look for a new keyboard.

Slightly annoyed though. Have never heard of eclipses giving up the ghost? :(
