Earlier this week while playing AOE2 out of the blue I started hearing a lot of static sound in my headphones. I could still hear the game music and sound still but there was constant background static hiss even when I exited the game or played a music track.
I tried plugging my headphone into the front headphone jack which had the same result, I tired my headphones on another device and it worked fine. I replaced the 6mm to 3.5mm adaptor on my HD515's and that didn't fix the problem either. I could only get clean sound if I used my crappy monitor speakers via a displayport cable.
I'm using my motherboards onboard sound card. Any suggestions? Do I need a new sound card?
