Ok i have been away from the whole IT technology thing for a few years now so choosing this spec has been a bit hard and im not sure if its good and also will be compatible with each other

Monitor - LG L226WTQ 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor

CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz

GFX - BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC2 640MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI

Mobo - Asus P5K Deluxe WiFi Intel P35

Memory - OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-8500 1066MHz Reaper HPC Edition Dual Channel DDR2

PSU - Hiper HPU-4M730 Type R 730W ATX2.2 PSU

Case - Lian Li PC-A16B Aluminium Full-Tower - Black

DVD-R - Plextor PX800A 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter

HD - Western Digital Raptor X 150GB WD1500AHFD 10,000RPM SATA 16MB Cache - OEM

If any one could suggest any compatibilities i might get and also if i could have bought anything better i would appreciate it

First thing, unless you like big bangs or dying PSUs i'd change away from the Hyper, as the latest ones have been pants TBH

get a Targen or a Corsain 620watt will run that fine - your pay slightly more for these but its better than a blown PSU>

The only two changes that seem obvious are to change the PSU to the Corsair 620w, Hiper are pretty bad of late plus 730w is a bit overkill.

The Raptor is a bit of a waste, better off with a larger 7200rpm drive from WD or Seagate such as the AAKS series or 7200.10s

Hardware looks good to me. Should all be okay together. ;)

Other then the PSU and HDD. But suggestions have been made above.

I'd change the PSU... Also the HDD's if you need storage over speed. If you need speed then the Raptor X is fine.

Cheers for the reply's guys

mmm i had a Hyper psu bout 2 years ago and it was awesome guess i better change it then

i got the Raptor X mainly for games i have a seperate 500GB drive about somewhere

If you really want a Raptor then just get the ordinary 150gb version which is both cheaper and has twice the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) rating of the Raptor X, admittedly the MTBF is largely academic either way since both offer years of constant use but it is a point to bear in mind possibly and unless you have a clear case the window in the top of the drive is a bit pointless. I'd personally choose to get an ordinary fast 7200.10 drive like the WD AAKS which isn't that much slower anyway but it is up to you.

If you are overclocking (and by the looks of the Ram you are) I'd suggest an aftermarket cooler, the Noctua NH-U12F and Tuniq Tower are two of the best air coolers. :)
