Is my system bottlenecked?

Ive got an athlon ii 640 x4 unOCed, a hd 6870 1gb, asrock n68c, unbranded 8gb dd3 ram. Is it bottlenecked?

My Q6600 at 3.6GHz would bottleneck my 5850 is some CPU intensive online games that don't use all 4 cores fully...but in games that use all 4 cores, not that much.

If you can overclock your Athlon II X4, it would certainly helped, especially in some older games that only written to use 2 cores (i.e. Crysis 1, Crysis Warhead or any game that pre-date the the launch of the Windows 7).

I was playing a malaysian online game and it really doesnt require high end hardware but i experienced fps decrease when all the characters where all in one place as it was pvp. So i thought maybe im missing something here and then i thought of my system being bottlenecked.

I've willing to bet that game doesn't use more than two cores...or even the two cores fully.

Probably is the lack of multi-core support on the game that led to the bottlenecking, rather then your hardware.

Some players can also be in the same situation but never experience it though..
