Hi folks,

I've had to RMA the PSU in my signature, and there's no way I'm waiting several weeks for it to come back without having a computer :P

I've got an old Corsair HX520 watt PSU - will it have enough juice?

Planning on taking my overclock off, and I know that my 7970 takes about 200 watts under load. I've got 3 fans, 5 HDDs, and a few LED strips, in addition to my signature.

Thanks :)

According to the online psu calculators you only need a touch over 400W without the overclock. It's probably just about big enough even with the overclock still applied.

Google 'psu calculator' and run the figures yourself.

Yeah it's about 4 years old. Ran the numbers on a PSU calculator, getting about 450 watts.

Just wasn't sure quite how close to 520W I could be.

Is it possible to damage other components, or would my PSU just give out if it couldn't keep up?

HA!!

Kind of makes me feel bad about running a 1000w PSU when my calc came out at 350w. hmmm....time to downgrade me thinks :S
