is my vid card goosed?

last night i got a BSOD with the video tdr failure message (NVLDDMKM.SYS)

a system restore got it working again but it crashed a few times since
in Device Manager under display adapter it was showing there was a problem with my GTX470

Nvidia control panel was also gone and I could only select 1600 1200 res even tho monitor is 1920 1200. The colours alos looked washed out and just not right

tried my old 8800GTS this morning and all seems fine

seems pretty obvious it's the GTX470 at fault but is there anything else that could be causing the problems?

Try it in another pc if you have one at hand and see if its still the same. it it is, then its new gpu time I'd have thought unfortunately.

Have you tried removing all the drivers and reinstalling them again? (for Nvidia)
Also as above try another pc if you can

no other PC to try it with I'm afraid

says

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

in device manager when using the 470

tried the 470 back in and there were different resolutions available this time but no 16:10 ratios
also the monitor was showing as 'Generic non pnp' with the 470 that time, wasn't doing that before

8800GTS back in now and everything is fine, even tried both 6 pin connectors individually on the GTS and no problems
