Is my wireless adapter failing?

Hi all, well I bought a TP link USB wireless adapter a year ago, it has been working great with no problems, untill today, where on two occations, it has been dropping the connection to my home network. Now, I know this cant be the router since my other devices (mobile phone, other computers in the house) can still connect. Also, when this happens at the bottom left of the screen, where it shows your signal, it just has a red X and says there are no available networks.

So, does this mean that my wireless adapter is failing, or can it be fixed by installing new drivers or something ?

Thanks in advance

A driver problem wouldn't normally cause an intermittent issue as described, although it's worth trying.

It's worth checking if a wireless channel change might help. Download inSSIDer and see what's going on around you, a neighbour may have installed something new that's causing you a problem.

True, conflicting channels usually can cause intermittent disconnections. I remember having that issue a few times. Also it could be the drivers causing the disconnection due to a missing .DLL/System file that may accidentally be missing/have been deleted by installing something new on the computer. I've had that problem also in the past.

Thanks for the replies guys, it seems that reinstalling the drivers has fixed it, since it hasnt dropped out since.

No problems, always willing to help others. :) Always re-install drivers/update them if you acquire another problem of this sort again. It makes the problem finding much easier. :)
