I have two massive uni deadlines coming up in the next 2 weeks with both projects needing to be done on my pc, now my pc is fine atm, but i am wary of it bluescreening and losing all my work. My pc randomly restarts, perhaps 4 times a week, but it hasn't blue screened yet. Of course i back-up all my work etc, but i'd just like to know if random restarts are a fixable problem. Only reason for it i can think of is using 1066mhz ram in a 800mhz motherboard (but i run it at 800mhz).

Any overclock present? Full system specs?

Does sound like memory to me. Try running memtest, and/or prime95 to see exactly how stable you are at the moment.

Does the ram timmings / voltage need setting up in the BIOS, try doing a mem test to check if a ram module is faulty.

But I would backup all your work on a external drive and backup every 5 - 10 mins or less even when working.

Your RAM has voltage problems, you need to update your drivers, or you are overheating.

Run a memtest over night is a good way to make sure the RAM isnt faulty.

Next time it restarts go into the BIOS and look at the temps.

Check the event logs to see if anything is causing the restarts

backing up is the best thing to do really to a flash drive but try seeing if it is the ram with memtest or either removing one and seeing how it acts then and do the same with all and move them into different slots see if anything happens then
