Hi Guys,
Been having some issues with my router today and wondering if I need to replace it. Ive noticed a few hiccups with my iPhone connecting to my home network over the past few weeks so wondering if its part of the same issue.
Basically my sisters work laptop has been getting intermittent wireless connection today which has made it difficult for her to connect to her work network - been only been able to resolve it by a wired connection.
My desktop PC and PS3 is wired (did sign out of PSN this morning though which is unusual) and I havent noticed anything particular regards connectively which is why I think the wifi on the router is going. My phone seems to flick between 3G and the wifi symbol quite a bit lately at home and sometimes connects to a nearby BT Openzone instead of my network and sometimes cant see the network in its list or seems to forget the password.
To attempt to fix this Ive rebooted the router and ensured the DHCP connections are more than plentiful (in case devices were fighting for an IP connection) and then on my own laptop attempted to keep a streaming network connection by using a YouTube playlist to see if I notice an intermittent network connection (did stop a few times).
So so far Ive not got anything decisive to say one way or the other - any ideas to prove the need for a replacement or not? And if so a recommended router for a cable connection?
P.S. The WRT54GS is still on normal Linksys firmware which I doubt has been updated ever...
TIA
