Ive had a 360 for about 2 weeks now, and occasionally it will freeze. At first i thought it was just the demos but it has frozen while playing Burnout, PGR3 and today when i played my brand new copy of Fight Night after about an hour. Apart from this small problem, it is fine.
Im hoping its due to the heat (my room is a sauna tbh), but is there supposed to be some sort warning when it overheats, like a red light? I havn't seen any.
I should also mention that it was bought off the members market, came with everything apart from an invoice/receipt. Does this mean i can't have it swapped by Microsoft if it is faulty?

Where is it freezing? Is it when you are doing stuff on the side pane when you are in a game and browsing the friends list and sending invites?

Everywhere is to warm just now, even just looking at my idle PC temps make me go  it sucks lol
I is there someplace cool you can play it? the only places i have had crashes is bringing up the guide whilst in some games, PGR3 but iirc that got fixed and Moto GP when looking at certain lists.
Phone MS, wont do any harm.
MS will replace it as it is defo under a year old and they cant really argue any way about it

Will be the heat. I used to get crashes all the time but then I pointed a fan over both the console and powersupply and problem solved haven't had a crash/freeze for months, but as said phone microsoft but they will probably tell you to find somewhere cool to play it. They did when I phoned anyway.

another reason to love living in Scotland:

1. We don't have hosepipe bans
2. We can play our xbox 360s without them freezing.

Granted the list is a little short, but it's growing :p

It shouldn't be overheating because it has been designed to work in hotter countries than the UK.
Having lived in Australia for 22 years I actually find the UK hotter in summer as all buildings are designed to retain heat and generally have poorer air conditioning/cooling. So while it is not as hot outside its far hotter inside and defiantly stresses computer equipment more.

I have doubts that MS would make a console which required you to have air conditioning for it not to have problems in summer.

Yeap my GF is the same, She is a Texan and hates Scottish summers, Least in Texas she goes from an Air Con house to an Air Con car to an air con mall, office etc. Here she goes from one oscilating fan straight to an oven like car to an office with borked air con :D

Will MS replace it even without a receipt or invoice?

Yep they will ask for serial so write it down also keep it handy just in case they send you same one back but i doubt it.

This will also set up an account with them.
