Hi guys

spec in sig

i'm not sure if my xfire is working.

i have xfire enabled in ccc and decided to run furmark to see what scores i get.

i have the latest version which puts 2 icons on my desktop;1 normal and 1 multi gpu. i use the multi-gpu shortcut.

if i disable xfire i get 6000ish points but when enabled i get the same score.

this doesn't seem right to me.

what can i do to diagnose any problems.

and is it something as easy as v-sync.

CrossfireX only works in fullscreen mode in most cases.

If you enable the CrossfireX indicator by right-clicking the ccc icon in the notification area of the task bar, you could see the indicator on screen whenever it takes effect.

Try using a real application, like a known Crossfire-compatible game, to see whether it's working or not. Furmark and Heaven are wastes of time and electricity.

A quick test (just to make sure the driver's reporting it as enabled) would be fire up GPU-Z and the Crossfire checkbox should be ticked.

a good app for checking is MSI afterburner, leave it running in the background and then have a look at the GPU useage for GPUs 1 and 2. If GPU 2 sits on 0% then you got a problem.

right, done both of these.

gpu-z is reporting xfire on and in afterburner both cores are going to full so it seems like it's working

i then fired up Kombustor and ran it both with xfire on and off which perfectly showed xfire working giving scores of around 1600 and 2800 so i'm happier now.

not sure why furmark doesn't show a difference but hey ho....
