Is now a good time to buy or wait for 5000 series

Following on my my other thread, it seems my laptop has died (or the screen at least).

I need a new one but this has happened at an awkward time as the 5000 series is around the corner.

So my questions are:

When are the 5000 series laptops expected to be available
Are there any 4080/4090 series worth getting now

My budget would be around the £3k+ for a 5000 series but I wouldn't want to pay much more than say £2K for a 4000 series.

@Jase Given your budget isn't constrained by necessity rather preference if you need to replace right now due to the screen failure then choice and availability dictates 40X series.

If you can wait then you'll get a bargain 40X at full 50X launch or 50X series.

I'd hold out for a 5070/5080

Thanks, it's purely a gaming laptop that I use when travelling or taking a break in the office so not urgent but I do miss.

If I knew the 5000 series would be available in March I'd definetly wait for a 5080, I see a few listed on OcUK now however I do hope the prices are placeholders.... £11,999 lol

Not sure I'd go for an Asus again, it was great when it worked but lasted only 2 years. I'm thinking Razer for the OLED screen.

I would wait for the 50 series laptops as they seem to be around the corner, also I think there might be an issue with the 13th gen and 14th gen intel chips so might be worth looking into one of the new AMD or intel chips
