hey, thinking about getting the 8meg Access package 02 broadband, as Virgin are REALLy annoying and the new p2p letters are starting to *scare* me.
just wondering is the 02 package actually unlimited, as in no download/upload limits or throtteling?

O2 run on the same network as BE which are supposed to be truely unlimited so I see no reason why the O2 service wouldnt be.

Out of interest have you recieved a letter from Virgin yet about P2P?

No, but i keep seeing things about Virgin cranking down on p2p and other things.
I use private trackers mainly, and rapidshare, so i think i'm pretty safe for now, am i right in thinking this?

No, they are outside your house now! RUN FOR IT!

...

The 02 package should be the same as Be. No limits, no throttling and no traffic shaping.

If only :(

BT throttle torrents, and will restrict the speed of these if they feel that they are having an impact on the available network for others, and almost always between 5pm and midnight (weekdays)/

The FUP is a waste of time, and so wooly as to be totally unclear. You will get no warning that you are approaching their fluid fair usage limit and will have to find out for yourself that you are now limited to dial-up speeds. It's based on what they "feel" is reasonable that month.

Some months it could be 75Gb, others 50Gb, so you take your chances.

BT do indeed throttle/cap/whatever, but BT *are not* o2, so this point is pretty irrelevent.

You shouldnt be downloading anything illegal.

Of course he shouldn't. People also shouldn't drink to much alcohol. People also shouldn't eat too much fatty food. People also shouldn't drive at 35mph in a 30 limit. People also shouldn't spell shouldn't 'shouldnt'
