Just received a new Asus 27" pb278q monitor and it has one pixel defect which I am dissapointed with.

Is this acceptable? I've tried running some software to try to 'unstick' the pixel but with no luck.

It depends what their warranty policy is. - I have a Samsung 930BF that was bought under their "zero dead pixel" policy, and despite the fact I bought it in Australia Samsung in the UK have honoured repairs to it.

Often the policy is something like zero dead pixels within a the middle 50% of the screen (so anywhere that's not ~25% from the edge). However if it's brand spanking new, it's worth talking to the vendor about it.

Just reading on another forum, a chap called Asus to complain and their policy is zero bright stuck pixels within the first year. I've raised an RMA and will give the etailer a call tomorrow to see if they will exchange it.
